An avatar is an image, picture or a photography representing a person in a virtual world. They are used in different blogs, social networks and forums to show the inner world of the hidden person, its character and world outlook. There are a lot of categories of avatars. An avatar can, for example, be photography of a famous singer, actress or character. In this case we have a deal with Movie Avatar. But why is an avatar so irreplaceable? First of all, we should keep in our mind that there are three kinds of avatars. They are those used in action games, violent action games and social networks. We are interested in the last type. In virtual world the most important qualities of avatars are expressiveness of a face and separate face features. If you do not want to show yourself with the picture, then creating an avatar is the best decision for you. It can “tell” you a lot of things about its owner by answering such questions as why he has chosen this avatar, what kind of avatar it is, what category it belongs to, etc. When, for example, a person is interested in sport he or she will probably choose Avatar Sports. Thus, we can state that an avatar can reveal the personality of its creator even better than an ordinary photo could do. Why do people use it? There are some certain reasons for it. One of them is fright to be noticed and “discovered”. If you place a photo of yourself then a lot of people will identify who you are. This will make a person feel not easy. There are also people who consider themselves as not beautiful, not pretty. That is why they do not desire to show themselves. There are also other people who just like the atmosphere of anonymity because of some personal grounds. And at last there are those who want to communicate in relaxing objective atmosphere and this can be only possible when you talk with an avatar. Besides if you place an avatar all people can learn is try to guess what personality its owner has. You remain unnoticed. An avatar gives you the chance of cognizing your inner world without being marked.

A picture plays a great role in revealing a person’s character. No words are able to replace it. As they say, it is much better once to see than a hundred times to be told about it. We should also do not forget that everybody perceives a picture in his own way. It means that a picture can create illusions. It is very difficult to judge a person only by his or her face. We need much time to get to know this person. We seldom receive this necessary time. As for words we are able to consider them for as long as we only want. Only after such consideration and analysis we are able to make our own conclusions. The advantage of an avatar is that its owner pays attention only to those important things that he wanted to convey to us. We should also admit that an avatar is indifferent; it has no religion, no race. If, for example, a person uses Avatar Animal it denotes only that its owner likes animals, but we know nothing about his or her religion or race.

The advantages of using avatars in revealing someone’s personality are quite obvious. They will evidently have a great sphere of appliance in future. Avatars may, for example, be used in authors’ articles and in presidential election. Authors and political candidates can represent their personalities by avatars instead of advertising their social status, background, etc.

By: Leslie Higgins

About the Author:
